Alec Baldwin is under the gun as a grand jury has him sweating bullets

Jan 31, 2024

Radical left-wing actor Alec Baldwin thought he was out of legal danger when charges were dropped for killing a co-worker.

But then things changed for the disgraced actor with one decision.

And that’s how Alec Baldwin found himself back under the gun as a grand jury took an action that had him sweating bullets.

A New Mexico grand jury has indicted Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin on an involuntary manslaughter charge related to his alleged shooting of a woman on the movie set of Rust.

“A total disregard or indifference for the safety of others”

The grand jury issued the indictment against Baldwin nearly one year after the initial charges brought against him were dropped.

Baldwin was initially charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter related to the death of the film’s cinematographer, 42-year-old Halyna Hutchins, in October 2021.

The current indictment charges the leftist actor with two separate counts of involuntary manslaughter as well, though he can only be convicted of one, according to reports.

The felony charge alleges Baldwin had a “total disregard or indifference for the safety of others,” and the other charge accuses him of negligent use of a firearm.

Baldwin is facing up to 18 months in prison if he is convicted of the new charge.

In response to the indictment, Baldwin’s attorneys, Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro, said they “look forward to [their] day in court.”

The charges stem from an on-set shooting of a prop gun by Baldwin that killed Hutchins and wounded Director Joel Souza.

Baldwin was holding the prop gun that he claims he did not fire when it discharged and unintentionally struck Hutchins in the chest.

One dead, one wounded in Baldwin’s bizarre “accident”

She was later airlifted to the University of New Mexico Hospital, where she died from her injuries.

A bullet also hit director Joel Souza and resulted in a non-life-threatening wound in the shoulder.

Baldwin has denied all responsibility for Hutchins’ death, even telling ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos during a December 2021 interview that he did not “pull the trigger” and would “never point a gun at anyone.”

He also claimed that he was told the gun was not loaded with live rounds and that no live ammunition was supposed to be on set.

Baldwin somehow expects people to believe the gun magically loaded itself, aimed itself at Hutchins, and then all by itself fired the deadly bullet.

And in fact, the first indictment against Baldwin was dropped after the prosecution received evidence indicating the gun may have been designed in a way that could make it easy for it to go off without anyone pulling the trigger.

However, a forensic report commissioned by the prosecution finally concluded that Baldwin must have pulled the trigger for the gun to fire rounds.

This led to the revival of the case and the new indictment against Baldwin.

The movie’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, is also facing an involuntary manslaughter charge.

She pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to appear before a judge in February.

The producers of the film, Rust, had already received multiple complaints about risks to the safety of the cast and crew.

And these complaints included reports of accidental discharges.

Six crew members reportedly walked off the set to protest the dangerous working conditions just hours before the fatal shooting.

And Baldwin is facing more trouble.

Mamie Mitchell, a script supervisor on Rust, announced a lawsuit against Baldwin on November 17, 2021, and a California judge determined on October 31, 2022, that Mitchell could move forward with her civil lawsuit against Baldwin.
