Another third-party candidate just gave Joe Biden one more thing to worry about

Nov 14, 2023

The latest polling for the 2024 Presidential race is giving Democrats heartburn.

Democrat bigwigs are calling for Biden to retire because they fear he will lose in a rematch with Donald Trump, and their only hope is that a third-party candidate can snatch away Trump voters.

But now Jill Stein’s announcement took away that idea and just gave Joe Biden and the Democrats a big headache with her latest announcement.

Physician and left-wing activist Jill Stein made a big splash by running in the 2016 Presidential election.

Stein gained the backing of the Green Party but never came close to winning the presidency.

In a close election, a few votes can go a long way

Even so, she won well over a million votes nationwide and over 1% of the national popular vote.

In Michigan alone, Stein received 51,463 votes – greater than Trump’s 10,700 vote margin of victory in the state.

For this reason, Democrats can’t be happy about the fact that Stein has just announced that she is running for President again, with the potential of again splitting the left-wing vote.

Stein announced Thursday in a video posted to the social media platform X.

Stein wrote, “The political system is broken. Over 60% of us now say the two-party establishment has failed us, and we need a party that serves the people. I’m running for President to offer a better choice for the people. Join us!”

According to her campaign website, Stein is all in on the Green New Deal.

Stein dislikes both parties, but her message promises to poach lefties from the Democrats

Stein says, “We must put an end to the shameful legacy of systemic discrimination against women, Black and Brown people, Indigenous people, immigrants, people with disabilities, the LGBTQIA+ community, and other marginalized groups, and come together to ensure our rights, freedoms, and justice for all.”

She says that “countless millions are still fighting for basic rights.”

According to Stein, “Democrats betrayed their promises for working people, youth, and the climate again and again, while Republicans don’t even make such promises in the first place. Both parties are a danger to our democracy by expanding censorship, criminalizing protests, throwing competitors off the ballot, suppressing debates, and rigging their primaries.”

She wasn’t done with her criticism there, adding, “The ruling parties that got us into this mess aren’t getting us out. Democrats and Republicans are squandering trillions on the endless war machine, fueling conflict around the world.”

Stein continued, “Change won’t come from the ruling elites. It comes from us, the people. We need an Economic Bill of Rights with the right to a job, health care, housing, food, education, and more.”

The addition of Stein to the presidential contest has the potential to create even more headaches for the beleaguered Biden administration, as the President’s approval rating hovers around 40%.

Recent polling from CNN showed Donald Trump leading Biden by 49-45 percent in a hypothetical rematch.

More interestingly, though, when Robert F. Kennedy Junior and Cornel West were included in the poll, Trump’s lead increased to six percentage points.

Stein has the potential to siphon even more votes from Joe Biden.

The election is still a year away, and much can and will change, but for now, Biden’s prospects of reelection just got dimmer.
