The backlash against woke, left-wing Hollywood is continuing to grow, and now it is even coming from anti-Trump people.
Most Americans saw the brutal and hilarious 2020 comments from British comedian Ricky Gervais that took social media by storm.
And now comedian Jim Gaffigan just blasted the Hollywood elite with this one line they wish he never said.
Comedian Jim Gaffigan blasted Hollywood during the recent 2024 Golden Globes Awards with a pointed “pedophile” jab in the wake of bombshell Jeffrey Epstein list release.
“I’m not a pedophile. … I don’t know if that’s a new category here . . .”
Gaffigan was at the Golden Globes to present the first-ever Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television award. During his usual deadpan riffing and joking, the comic
dropped a massive bomb on the Hollywood elite.
Gaffigan said, “I can’t even believe I’m in the entertainment industry, I can’t. You know, it’s so unlikely. I’m from a small town in Indiana. I’m not a pedophile. … I don’t know if that’s a new category here . . .”
There was some scattered audible laughter and even some applause from the crowd after Gaffigan uttered the “pedophile” part of his joke.
The demands for the names of politicians and celebrities who may have been connected with an underage sex-trafficking ring operated by Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell have been growing.
And last week, a third set of documents in relation to a 2015 defamation lawsuit against Maxwell by one of Epstein’s victims was released.
This particular document dump totaled some 1,300 pages.
Decider pointed out that Gaffigan also added, “For 80 years, good-looking people threw a party, right? And then you guys finally decided to invite the talented people.”
Gaffigan then read the names of the nominees for the new stand-up comedy award, including Trevor Noah, Chris Rock, Amy Schumer, Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes, and Ricky Gervais.
And the winner is . . .
He then announced the winner of the award, Gervais, for his exceptional “Ricky Gervais: Armageddon.”
Gervais, of course, went viral in 2020 for his take-no-prisoners Golden Globes monologue that tore apart the Hollywood left-wing celebrity culture.
Gaffigan’s comments have been applauded and widely promoted on social media, even though Gaffigan is not a conservative.
In fact, Gaffigan has expressed his dislike of former President Donald Trump and his strong support for President Joe Biden.
And a number of those reacting on social media to Gaffigan’s “pedophile” joke highlighted the comedian’s left-wing politics: “LOL! He’s a Trump-hating lefty, but he’s on the money there,” one commenter wrote.
“Dude’s a Trump hater,” another commenter said. “Wish I could support him.”
“I loved Gaffigan until 2020 when he announced he was supporting Joe Biden,” another commenter declared.
But Gaffigan’s comments show a growing backlash against the Hollywood elite and their preaching to the American people on socialist issues.
He, like Gervais, acutely pointed out the hypocrisy of Tinseltown and the elitist actors, directors, and producers who make up its ranks.
