Chipotle Just Launched a Free Burrito Giveaway Worth Over 2 Million Dollars

Chipotle just handed every loyal customer a shot at free burritos for an entire year.

And all you have to do is crack a code.

The game went live this week – and if you're not playing, you're leaving money on the table.

How the Burrito Vault Works

Chipotle's Burrito Vault: Double Protein Edition is running right now through Wednesday, April 1.

Head to UnlockBurritoDay.com on your phone or computer and log into your Chipotle Rewards account. Then try to guess the exact burrito ingredient combination to unlock the vault. After each guess, the game shows you which ingredients you got right and which you missed – guess your way to the correct combination and you win.

Every hour on the hour, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern, the code resets and a fresh round of prizes opens up. You get four guesses per hour.

The first player to crack the code each hour walks away with free burritos for a year – 52 weekly free entrées valued at $554. After that, 3,600 buy-one-get-one free codes go to the next fastest players. Get your guess in before those are gone and you still walk away with a free meal.

Once per day, Chipotle designates a mystery hour as the Double Protein Power Hour – and everything doubles. The first two players to crack the code during that window win free double protein burritos for a year, worth $773 each. Over 7,200 BOGO codes follow.

In total, Chipotle is putting up more than $2 million in prizes across the three-day event.

If you've never signed up for Chipotle Rewards, it takes about two minutes and it's free to join.

Go to Chipotle.com/rewards on your phone or computer. Enter your email address and create a password. Once you're in, head straight to UnlockBurritoDay.com and log in with that same email address to start playing. The code resets every hour through Wednesday evening, so there are dozens of chances to win.

This Is the Biggest Version Yet

This isn't Chipotle's first rodeo. The Burrito Vault launched in 2024 and drove what the company called its highest digital transaction day of all time. Last year's edition drew 3.5 million plays.

This year they raised the stakes. The new Double Protein Power Hour feature doubles the prize pool during a randomly selected hour each day. Chipotle introduced the double protein angle alongside a broader push to give customers more meat in every order – better value, bigger portions, same great food.

Sixty-two percent of consumers say they're more likely to order from a restaurant that offers generous protein options. Chipotle listened.

Don't Miss the April 2 Bonus

Even if you miss the vault game, National Burrito Day falls on Thursday, April 2. On that day, Chipotle Rewards members get $0 delivery on orders placed through the Chipotle app or website. Use the code DELIVER at checkout, minimum order $10.

All the BOGO codes won during the vault game are redeemable on April 2 as well – meaning winners can stack a free entrée on top of free delivery.

The game runs 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern daily through Wednesday. A new shot at free burritos for a year, every hour, sixty times before the clock runs out.
