CNN Tried To Ridicule RFK Over His Diet And Rubio Beat Them To The Punchline

CNN sent Dana Bash after Robert F. Kennedy Jr. hoping to embarrass him on live television.

Kennedy buried her in facts and the segment became a viral disaster for CNN instead.

This week Marco Rubio landed the joke the media couldn't, and he did it without helping a single liberal talking point.

Rubio Calls RFK's Diet Crazy To His Face

Marco Rubio does not agree with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on everything, and he said so out loud.

On Katie Miller's podcast this week, Rubio was asked about Kennedy's now-famous diet of red meat and fermented vegetables.

He did not hedge.

"This is a crazy diet," Rubio said.

He kept going, joking that Kennedy has to travel the world hauling coolers full of sauerkraut just to stay on plan.

"I'm not going to travel the world with a cooler full of sauerkraut. It's ridiculous. I can't do it," Rubio said.

Kennedy has turned his personal eating habits into federal policy this year, unveiling a new food pyramid that puts steak and whole milk at the top and declaring war on the American Heart Association along the way.

The legacy media has spent months trying to turn that diet into a punchline aimed at the entire MAHA movement, not just Kennedy.

CNN sent Dana Bash to pick a fight with Kennedy on live television hoping to expose him as a crank.

Kennedy answered her with facts instead, and critics called the exchange an embarrassment for CNN, not for him.

Wired sent a reporter to try Kennedy's diet just to mock it on camera, and the stunt ended with the reporter getting sick on video instead of landing the gotcha they wanted.

Rubio was clear he backs the broader MAHA push against processed junk and Big Food dogma.

But he was not about to pretend he lives on sauerkraut and lard to prove it.

Jeanette Rubio Isn't Buying The Health Talk Either

Rubio's wife Jeanette wasn't letting him off easy either.

She told Miller flat out that her husband eats sweets and does not stick to any MAHA-approved menu.

"He eats all the things you should not be eating. Like every single thing," she said.

Rubio didn't deny the sweet tooth. He defended it.

"The Pop-Tart is one of the great American innovations in the history of the world, if you think about it. It comes in this beautiful foil package," Rubio said.

That is not the answer of a man worried about looking disciplined for cameras.

It is the answer of a man who has decided he would rather be honest and likable than perform wellness theater for a podcast audience.

The Media Tried This Joke First And Lost

This is a small exchange on a podcast, but the timing is not small at all.

Rubio has spent 2026 climbing from an afterthought in 2028 primary polling to a genuine threat to Vice President JD Vance's frontrunner status, cutting a 46 point deficit in New Hampshire down to 10 points in a matter of months.

Voters over 50 already prefer him to Vance head to head.

A guy running that kind of comeback does not accidentally crack jokes at a Cabinet colleague's expense on a podcast.

He does it because he knows exactly who is listening, and he knows a Secretary of State who can laugh at his own Cabinet plays better with normal voters than the sneering hit pieces CNN and Wired kept publishing all year.

Here is what the media never figured out. Every time CNN or a coastal outlet mocked Kennedy's diet, they weren't just mocking Kennedy. They were mocking every American who has ever eaten a steak, skipped a salad, or laughed at a nutritionist on television.

Rubio told the same joke from inside the tent, and it landed instead of backfiring, because voters can tell the difference between a friend needling a friend and an outsider sneering at flyover country.

Democrats and their media allies spent a year trying to turn a slouching couch photo into proof that Rubio was a lightweight.

He turned it into a brand instead, and this week he turned a Pop-Tart joke into the same kind of win.

That is why normal Americans trust this Cabinet over the network that keeps losing to it.
