Country music icon Ronnie Dunn has been performing hit songs for nearly four decades, but fans witnessed a disturbing scene at the band’s Indianapolis show on Thursday.
The 71-year-old Brooks & Dunn member was belting out the band’s chart-topping hit “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” during the show’s encore when he suddenly signaled he couldn’t continue.
In a viral TikTok video that’s leaving fans concerned, Dunn can be seen finishing his verse before shaking his head at a band member, making it clear he was done performing.
The visibly exhausted singer then turned to face the audience, pounded his heart with his fist, and waved goodbye before walking off stage.

“Feel better, Ronnie!!! Thanks for giving us all you could!!” read the caption on the alarming video.
Another TikTok post showed the country star sitting down on the stage risers during an earlier song, further fueling concerns about his health.
“Anyone know what’s going on?! Hoping a quick bug, and he’s back on stage tomorrow!” that caption read.
Health issues have been plaguing the country star
This isn’t the first time health concerns have affected Dunn’s performances in recent weeks.
Last month, the singer revealed on Instagram that he was battling serious health problems that were affecting his ability to perform.
“Had to fight through the last two shows (the flu and strep aren’t a singer’s friend…) Crowds have been terrific and thanks to the best band and crew in the business we’ve powered through it,” Dunn wrote on his social media.
One observant fan connected the dots in the comments section of the TikTok video, writing: “When they were in Houston he said he was getting over Covid and strept [sic] throat. He needs to rest and recover.”
The combination of COVID, flu, and strep throat would be challenging for anyone, let alone a 71-year-old performer maintaining a rigorous tour schedule.

The Hall of Fame singer’s devoted fans immediately flooded social media with messages of support and concern.
“Praying for you Ronnie! Hope you get better soon,” one worried fan wrote on the band’s official Instagram page.
Another fan who attended the Indianapolis show commented: “You guys were awesome last night in Indy!!!! My first time seeing yall and definitely was a dream well met!! It looked like you were sick near the end though and I hope you get better soon!!!!!”
Brooks & Dunn has been a fixture in country music since the early 1990s, with 20 number-one hits including “Boot Scootin’ Boogie,” “My Maria,” and “Ain’t Nothing ‘Bout You.”
The duo was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2019, cementing their legacy as one of the most successful acts in country music history.
While this mid-concert exit obviously concerned many in attendance, fans can take some comfort in knowing that Dunn was back on stage the following night. The veteran performer has neither confirmed the specific reason for his abrupt departure nor addressed the incident publicly.
