Adonis Georgiadis runs Greece's Health Ministry and is also New Democracy's vice president and a trained historian.

He sat down with Breitbart News in Athens and made a case that should make every American proud.

Trump can force Britain to finally return the Parthenon Marbles to Greece.

Georgiadis wore Trump cufflinks to the interview.

He said he wears them specifically to protect himself from communists.

Georgiadis argued America's Founders built the Republic on the same classical ideals carved into the Parthenon itself.

Every column at the Capitol, every dome in Washington, traces straight back to that hill in Athens.

He said Trump, as leader of the West, is uniquely positioned to finish what centuries of British stonewalling never allowed.

“Even the British don't say no,” Georgiadis said.

He explained the British excuse machine has run for two hundred years without ever claiming a legitimate purchase, because not even the British government has ever argued Elgin's paperwork was legitimate.

The marbles were never bought.

They were cut from a sacred temple by a British lord who lied his way past Ottoman guards to do it.

Lord Elgin told Ottoman officials he only wanted to study the Parthenon.

Instead he tore pieces off the building and shipped them to his garden in Britain.

One ship sank on the way, and pieces of the Parthenon still sit at the bottom of the sea.

Georgiadis put it bluntly: Elgin cut the marbles off the temple and stole them.

Konstantinos Kyranakis, Secretary General of New Democracy and a sitting member of Greek Parliament, told Breitbart News that Trump's legacy would stretch for centuries if he got involved.

He called it a moment when political leadership serves civilization itself.

Endy Zemenides, who leads the Hellenic American Leadership Council, told Breitbart News the British excuses have officially run out of road.

New British PM Andy Burnham Has Talked Return for 25 Years and Done Nothing

Britain's excuse for two centuries has been simple.

Politicians claim it isn't their call, and the British Museum claims its hands are tied by a 1963 law that bans permanent transfers.

Rishi Sunak hid behind that law and then canceled a meeting with Greece's prime minister rather than face the subject directly.

Keir Starmer took power and did the exact same thing.

Then Starmer collapsed, and Labour handed Downing Street to Andy Burnham.

Burnham has spent twenty five years on record demanding Britain give the marbles back.

He signed a parliamentary motion pushing for their return in 2001, months after entering Parliament, and co-introduced a bill to change the 1963 law the following year.

As Mayor of Greater Manchester he said flatly that George Osborne should give the marbles back.

In 2023 he posted online that Britain should send them back with no conditions attached.

Burnham now runs the country that has stalled Greece for two centuries.

Trump and Burnham have already spoken directly, despite Burnham spending years publicly criticizing Trump before taking office.

Fox News reported the two leaders held their first call after Burnham took office, covering trade, the Middle East, and the broader alliance between the two countries.

Burnham told Trump he looked forward to welcoming him to Manchester.

Nobody on that call mentioned the marbles sitting in a London museum.

George Osborne, the British Museum's chairman, has spent years quietly negotiating a loan deal that still leaves the marbles legally owned by Britain.

Greece has rejected that half measure every single time it surfaces, because Mitsotakis wants full repatriation, not a loan Britain can cancel whenever it wants.

That is the exact moment Georgiadis says Trump should step in and settle two hundred years of British excuses with a phone call.

Trump Can Do What No British Politician Ever Would

Here is what actually fires me up about this story.

British politicians have talked about returning the marbles since Tony Blair was in office, and every single one of them chickened out the moment it mattered.

Trump does not answer to the British Museum's board or a 1963 law written to protect a theft.

This isn't just a British problem to solve.

The Parthenon is the birthplace of the democratic ideals America was built on, and Georgiadis is right that reclaiming it matters to anyone who still believes in Western civilization.

Trump has already shown with Iran that he moves when other leaders only talk.

Now he has Burnham on the phone, a British prime minister with a twenty five year paper trail on this exact issue, and zero excuse left to hide behind.

Greek officials aren't asking for charity.

They're asking one American president to do in a single phone call what an entire British political class couldn't manage in two hundred years.

Two hundred years of British excuses just ran out, and it took an American president to end them.
