History may very well look back on Joe Biden’s administration as the most corrupt in history.
While his involvement with son Hunter’s shady foreign business deals has made the headlines, there is far more corruption and abuse in the Biden regime.
That’s why Joe Biden hit the panic button after calls were issued for a key Biden official to resign due to multiple abuses.
Key leaders from 14 government accountability organizations issued a letter to President Joe Biden calling for the immediate resignation of Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm.
Numerous allegations of abuse
The letter alleges multiple instances of unethical conduct throughout her tenure as head of the Department of Energy (DOE).
The letter also demands that Biden pursue Granholm’s resignation due to “her repeated apparent violations of federal ethics laws and regulations” and “the ethics failures and legal missteps of her subordinates resulting from her poor example.”
Granholm has been a constant source of controversy since taking over the top post at DOE.
She failed to fully report her financial holdings, participated in government activity that likely benefited her financial interests, and violated the STOCK Act.
The letter also alleges she has informed her subordinates at DOE that their top priority should be policy outcomes, not ethical compliance, and that she has violated the Hatch Act.
The letter goes on to highlight a “litany of abuses of public trust,” alleging that “Granholm has disregarded and de-prioritized her ethics obligations at every turn” since officially taking the helm at DOE in February of 2021.
In January 2021, Biden signed an executive order on his first day in office requiring every one of his appointees in every office of the executive branch to sign an ethics pledge.
He made the laughable claim that he was committed to “decision-making on the merits and exclusively in the public interest, without regard to private gain or personal benefit.”
Biden further stated that his administration would be aligned with “a broader ethics in government plan designed to restore and maintain public trust in government.”
From bankruptcy to big-time power
Before taking the reins at DOE, Granholm served on the board of Proterra.
Proterra is a now-bankrupt electric bus company that the Biden administration publicly touted and supported financially even after she had started working for the administration.
And Granholm did not divest her personal stake in the company until months after she started at DOE, which allowed her to net $1.6 million in capital gains.
“It looked bad enough when Secretary Granholm participated in a program that awarded grant funds to companies tied to Proterra,” Michael Chamberlain, president of Protect the Public’s Trust and signatory to the letter, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
He continued, “But recent revelations show it was much worse.”
Chamberlain also pointed out that “her husband owned stock in Ford Motor Company while Ford received almost $25 million from that program.”
He was referring to the fact that the Biden administration signed off on enormous subsidies for Ford to boost its long-term electric vehicle production.
At the same time, Granholm’s husband held a position in the automaker.
Revelations of her husband’s holdings followed her April sworn testimony to a Senate committee in which she said that she did not own any individual stocks.
And Business Insider reported Granholm also violated the STOCK Act 9 times in 2021 alone.
The STOCK Act is supposed to minimize insider trading by government officials.
A DOE representative said her multiple violations were due to “an inadvertent clerical oversight.”
Granholm was also found by the Office of Special Counsel to have violated the Hatch Act in 2021 when she urged people to vote for Democrats in an interview with Marie Claire streamed on Instagram.
It’s time for Joe Biden to accept Granholm’s immediate resignation, but we aren’t holding our breath.
