The “Twitter Files” showed how the government and liberals worked to shut down dissenting voices and free speech.
But when Elon Musk took over Twitter, it was just the beginning of change, and now it’s beginning to evolve to the next stage.
And now, the social media platform is getting an enormous boost as an important piece of the platform takes shape.
“World-class subject matter experts and tons of humor…”
Elon Musk set out to change the way that the world consumes media—in response to declining public trust.
The billionaire entrepreneur has since been on a campaign to expose propaganda networks and to grow the presence of critical reporting on X.
“I don’t read legacy media propaganda much anymore. It’s a waste of time and a sadness generator,” he wrote in September.
The corporate press used to be the first place to find breaking stories, but the advent of social media has proven them to be outdated and slow.
Musk says he only gets his news from X, “much more immediate, has actual world-class subject matter experts and tons of humor. So much better!”
The platform was initially designed to be a place of short-form discussion—but Musk had more significant ideas.
The platform would quickly become a place for full-length video.
“It’s a new world. Welcome.”
In May of last year, Tucker Carlson was one of the first prominent influencers to take advantage of the X platform’s extended video capabilities.
The first video he updated was his announcement that he would be streaming on social media—and it earned a whopping 138 million views.

It was clear that, slowly but surely, X would become a video platform for journalists and entertainers looking to free themselves from the establishment media’s grasp.
Fast forward to today—even Left-Wing reporter, Don Lemon, has joined the platform.
“I’ve heard you…and today I am back bigger, bolder, and freer,” Lemon announced earlier this month.
The former MSNBC anchor said that he would be launching his own media company, and “you’ll find it first on X, the biggest space for free speech in the world…”
Even Carlson gave him a “Congratulations,” adding, “It’s a new world. Welcome.”

X blows YouTube out of the water
But it isn’t enough to just host the biggest names in politics on the platform, and not long after Lemon’s announcement, social media users got a big surprise.
“$1 Car vs $100,000,000 Car!” became the “First MrBeast video posted directly on X.”

MrBeast is one of the biggest content creators on YouTube, boasting over 230 million subscribers.
Beast’s channel focuses mostly on humor and totally avoids politics.
The most popular video on his channel has reached over half a billion people.
“I’m curious how much ad revenue a video on X would make, so I’m reuploading to test it. Will share ad rev next week,” he wrote in the post.
The video was published on Monday, and in two short days, it reached over 77 million views.
In comparison, the last video he uploaded to YouTube went up 3 days ago and only reached 71 million views.
It’s clear that Musk’s platform is outperforming YouTube—at least for MrBeast.
Musk has sent an overt message to the old guard of online spaces—his platform is indeed “so much better!”
