Lindy Li Just Revealed What the Democrats’ Own Secret Poll Said About Kamala Harris

Sep 17, 2026

Democrats told you Kamala Harris was the best candidate to beat Donald Trump.

Their own polling said something very different.

A former party insider just exposed what that secret poll actually found.

Lindy Li Exposes the Secret Poll on Kamala Harris

Lindy Li is not a Republican attack dog.

She raised millions for the Democratic Party.

She sat on the party's National Finance Committee, working directly with both the Biden and Harris campaigns.

And she says the party's own internal polling showed Kamala Harris finishing dead last among potential Biden replacements.

Not second to last.

Last.

Pete Buttigieg – who received zero percent support from Black voters – still outpolled her.

Gavin Newsom outpolled her.

Gretchen Whitmer outpolled her.

Every candidate floated as a Biden replacement polled ahead of the woman Democrats handed the nomination without a single primary vote.

"Kamala Harris came in dead last," Li told Fox News Digital. "It wasn't even close."

So what did the party do with that information?

They buried it, Li says, because the numbers contradicted the story party leaders had already decided to tell the country.

How DEI Politics Beat Kamala Harris's Own Polling Data

Here is what actually happened inside the Democratic Party in July 2024.

Joe Biden finally agreed to step aside after a debate performance that made it impossible to pretend any longer.

The party had a choice – run the strongest possible candidate against Donald Trump, or protect the ideological machinery that had taken years to build.

They chose the machinery.

Li says party leaders believed passing over Harris would have been read as a betrayal by Black women, the bloc they consider their most loyal base – a risk nobody at the top was willing to take.

Read that again.

The party had polling showing Harris was their weakest option.

They chose her anyway – not because they thought she could win, but because the alternative would offend a demographic they depend on.

DEI wasn't just a corporate HR policy for Democrats.

It was a presidential nomination strategy.

And then there was the mob.

Li says party officials were less worried about Harris's small but combative online following, nicknamed the K-Hive by her supporters, and more worried about being branded racist for skipping over her.

So the most powerful political party in America was afraid of being called names on the internet.

That fear cost them the election.

How DNC Delegate Rules Let Democrats Skip a 2024 Primary

Here is the part Democrats never wanted you to understand.

Biden's delegates were never legally bound to him – not by any law, not by any DNC rule.

Once he dropped out, those nearly 4,700 delegates were free to nominate anyone.

Democratic operatives could have held an actual open contest.

Instead, party leadership locked down support for Harris within two weeks, and 99 percent of delegates signed her nominating petition before a single voter outside party headquarters had any say.

Political scientist Wayne Steger of DePaul University warned at the time that the rush carried real risk, noting Harris hadn't been "battle-tested" the way a normal nominee would be.

Democrats had the legal room to test their candidates against each other.

They chose a coronation instead – and buried the poll that would have told them exactly why that was a mistake.

What This Means for Democrats' 2026 Midterm Bench

This matters beyond the 2024 postmortem.

Democrats are heading into the 2026 midterms still fighting the same internal war Li describes – the far-left wing that gave America Kamala Harris is now backing Zohran Mamdani in New York and pushing socialist candidates in primaries across the country.

The same identity politics machine that buried a poll showing Harris was the weakest candidate is still running the Democratic Party.

James Carville – a Democrat, not a Republican – declared identity politics dead within his own party after the Clinton and Harris failures, saying voters no longer care about a candidate's gender, race, or ethnicity. "They just want to win," he said.

The party's voters may want to win.

The party's leadership proved in 2024 they want something else.

They had the polling.

They had a legal path to an open contest.

They looked at both – and handed the nomination to the weakest person in the field because they were afraid of being called racists by an angry online mob.

That is not a party that has learned its lesson.

That is a party that still does not understand what it did.
