With advancement in technology there are very few things humans have never witnessed in nature.
But there is one thing that has dramatically shaped our history that people have never caught on camera before.
Mankind just captured a terrifying video of something never before seen or heard.
Man’s last frontier
Can you imagine the thoughts European settlers and explorers had during the period of discovery in North America?
They spend weeks traveling across the desolate ocean facing unknown dangers to reach a world so different from their own that had never been explored before.
But these explorers witnessed events, things, and animals never experienced by civilized man.
And for generations after these explorers discovered the New World, they kept pushing the boundaries of the known world to see just how far they could go.
Because of their hard work and dedication, there isn’t much left in this world that is a mystery to man.
But that doesn’t mean there aren’t any unexplained mysteries left to be discovered.
For instance, the next frontier for man is space.
The massive void of space is filled with mysteries that continuously make scientists baffled as to its origins.
Just think about it.
With all of man’s technological advancements over the generations, humans have only been able to go to the moon, just 238,900 miles away.
To put that into perspective, Pluto is a whopping 4.67 billion miles from you right now and that is just the end of the solar system and there are billions upon billions of other solar systems in the universe.
So think about the amount of things that man has yet to discover that humanity has never been able to witness or comprehend.
But it isn’t just things billions of light years away that man has never seen in person, its parts of space that come crashing down on earth that elude us as well.
That’s what a meteor sounds like hitting the earth?
On a daily basis, meteors pummel the earth burning up in the atmosphere as they ascend to the ground.
Some estimate the number of meteors and small space debris to collide with the earth is around 25 million per day.
But of all those about fifteen to twenty are big enough to sustain the fall through the atmosphere and hit the ground on a daily basis.
And with all these meteors hitting the earth, you would assume someone would have gotten video and audio of what it sounds like when it hits the ground.
Mankind has had the ability to capture sound and video at the same time for generations now.
But shockingly, no one has been able to catch a striking meteor in a video with audio, until now.
For the first time in recorded history, Joe Velaidum, from Marshfield, Prince Edward Island, Canada, caught a meteor crashing to earth on his doorbell camera.
Joe had just left out the door of his house and walked away when something hit the ground a minute later right where he was walking.
A chunk of space rock and ice traveled millions of miles in this solar system and crashed into Joe’s sidewalk at over 37,000 miles per hour.
As Joe remembered, “if I had stayed there a minute longer, I’d have been hit.”
