Donald Trump and Megyn Kelly were mortal enemies during the 2016 election.
Now, Trump and Kelly are set to lock horns again.
And the announcement of this wild turn of events is going to turn heads across America.
After getting fired from NBC News, Megyn Kelly’s reinvented herself as one of America’s top conservative media podcasters.
Kelly’s already interviewed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, and now she’s set to make her biggest splash in the 2024 cycle.
On the most recent episode of her show, Kelly announced that for the first time in seven years, she would interview Donald Trump.
“Next week, I’ll be interviewing former President Donald Trump. It will be my first interview with the former President in seven years, and there’s so much to get to. I’m really looking forward to this,” Kelly stated.
“It’s gonna be great. It’s gonna be spicy, and it’s gonna be tough, but it’s gonna be good, and hopefully, we’re both gonna enjoy it. I think you’re all gonna enjoy it too. We’re gonna have a lot of time for a variety of topics in person, sitting down with him in person.”
Trump and Kelly were at odds in the 2016 election as Trump thought Fox News management tasked Kelly with trying to destroy his campaign at the first 2016 GOP presidential debate.
Kelly led off the debate by asking Trump about past comments he made about women, saying, “You’ve called women you don’t like ‘fat pigs,’ ‘dogs,’ ‘slobs,’ and ‘disgusting animals.'”
Trump famously responded by joking that he was only referring to Rosie O’Donnell.
But Kelly would not let the point go.
The argument got so bad that Trump boycotted Fox News for two weeks, and then skipped a Fox News debate on the eve of the Iowa Caucus due to the fact that Fox News selected Kelly as one of the moderators.
In an interview with Bill O’Reilly, Trump slammed Kelly for asking a “gotcha question” at the first debate and doubled down on his position of passing on the last debate before the Iowa Caucus.
“I have zero respect for Megyn Kelly. I don’t think she is very good at what she does. I think she is highly overrated. And frankly, she’s a moderator. I thought her question last time was ridiculous,” Trump told O’Reilly.
“And everybody said that after the debate. Well, everybody said I won all six debates, especially the last one. So, I don’t mind debating. In fact, I actually like debating.”
But now, with polls showing Trump as the far-and-away leader for the GOP nomination, Trump is willing to sit down and talk to anyone.
And that includes his former rival, Megyn Kelly.
There’s no doubt many Americans will tune in to see if there will be more fireworks.
