Country music star Morgan Wallen thought he could talk his way out of trouble.

The Nashville police had other plans.

And Morgan Wallen got caught red-handed and his phone call to save himself backfired spectacularly.

Morgan Wallen has become one of the biggest names in country music over the past few years.

His concerts sell out arenas across the country and his albums top the charts.

But fame doesn’t make you above the law.

And Wallen learned that lesson the hard way when he got arrested for throwing a chair off the roof of Chief’s bar in Nashville back in April 2024.

Police bodycam footage shows Wallen’s pathetic attempts to dodge responsibility

The Metro Nashville Police just released bodycam footage from Wallen’s arrest that reveals exactly what happened during the incident.

And it’s not a good look for the country superstar.

The footage starts with Wallen and his team trying to leave Chief’s when police stopped them about a chair that had landed near a patrol car.

"What happened?" the officer asked Wallen directly.

"I don’t know," Wallen replied, playing dumb like he had no idea what they were talking about.

When a police officer told Wallen he was trying to figure out why a chair landed next to his patrol car, Wallen responded by suggesting the officer should "figure it out."

That’s when Wallen decided to pull out his phone and call Eric Church.

Apparently, Wallen thought Church could somehow get him out of this mess – maybe use his influence to make the whole thing disappear.

Church picked up the phone and even agreed to speak with one of the officers.

But here’s the kicker – Church didn’t help Wallen at all.

The veteran country star basically left Wallen hanging, completely foiling his attempt to play the "do you know who I am?" card.

Security camera footage sealed Wallen’s fate

While Wallen was busy denying responsibility and making phone calls, the officers were examining the security footage.

And that footage showed exactly what happened – Wallen throwing the chair off the roof.

Once the officers had the video evidence, they arrested him and placed him in the back of a patrol car.

Even then, Wallen kept insisting he hadn’t done anything wrong.

"I ain’t done nothing wrong," he said as they put him in the car.

But then something happened that shows just how disconnected this guy really is.

His song "Mawmaw’s House" – a collaboration with Thomas Rhett – started playing on the radio in the police car.

"Oh s***. This is me and Thomas Rhett. Turn it up," he asked with some excitement.

"TR is one of the best dudes in the world," Wallen said. "He would definitely not be getting arrested."

The reality check country music needed

Look, here’s what this whole mess really shows – fame and money don’t give you a free pass to act like an idiot.

Wallen thought he could throw furniture off buildings and then lie his way out of it when the police showed up.

When that didn’t work, he tried to call in favors from other celebrities to get him off the hook.

And when that failed, he still couldn’t accept responsibility for his actions.

This is exactly the kind of entitled behavior that regular folks are sick of seeing from celebrities.

For people who work for a living and follow the rules, watching some country music star think he’s above the law is infuriating.

The fact that Wallen was more excited about hearing his song on the radio than concerned about being arrested tells you everything you need to know about his priorities.

And Eric Church deserves credit for not bailing out his fellow country star.

Church could have easily tried to smooth things over with the cops or vouched for Wallen’s character.

Instead, he stayed out of it and let the legal process work the way it’s supposed to.

That’s exactly how it should be – nobody should get special treatment just because they’re famous.

Wallen eventually pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment and the case was settled last December.

But this bodycam footage shows the real Morgan Wallen – not the carefully crafted public image his record label wants you to see.

It shows a guy who thinks the rules don’t apply to him and who can’t take responsibility for his own actions.

That’s not the kind of role model country music – or any music – needs.
