The Small Business Administration is bringing Nicki Minaj to Washington next month.
She'll sit on a judging panel with private equity manager Grant Cardone and Airbnb co-founder Joe Gebbia.
Actor Dean Cain will host.
Five small businesses will compete live on September 18 for a share of $1 million in growth capital.
SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler announced the event as part of America's 250th anniversary celebration.
She called it a showcase of America's legacy of free enterprise.
Entrepreneurs submitted pitches earlier this year.
Five finalists made the cut: a defense technology company in Maine, a metalworking machinery maker in Georgia, a plastic mold manufacturer in Iowa, a pressure vessel company in Wyoming, and a veteran-owned machinery firm in San Diego.
First place walks away with $400,000.
Every finalist gets paid.
This isn't a coincidence.
It's Trump running The Apprentice through the federal government itself.
Why Manufacturing Companies Are the Only Finalists
Every single one of the five finalists builds something physical in America – nothing digital, nothing theoretical, nothing you can't hold in your hand.

Loeffler has spent the past year touring 23 states, watching business owners upgrade factory floors with new equipment.
She's been running the SBA's onshoring portal, which now lists over one million American suppliers so businesses can stop buying from China.
Her agency just caught foreign companies falsely slapping "Made in America" labels on flatware sold to the federal government, and pulled 22 of those listings within three weeks.
This administration isn't handing out participation trophies to whatever pitch sounds trendy.
It's picking the companies that make the stuff this country actually needs and putting them on national television to prove it.
The Apprentice Never Really Left the White House
Trump hosted The Apprentice for 14 years before he ran for president.
The show turned him into a household name asking businesspeople to sell products and defend their numbers in front of a panel.
The administration didn't hide the inspiration – everyone covering this event has noted it echoes Trump's old reality-show format, because it obviously does.
Randal Pinkett, a former Apprentice winner turned Trump critic, once said the one thing that drives Trump is competition itself.
He wasn't wrong.
Trump turned a boardroom into a presidency.
Now he's turning a federal small business agency into a stage.

Six months ago Minaj told reporters she'd secretly supported Trump for years and was scared to say it out loud.
She said Hollywood had ingrained in everyone's brain that entertainers were supposed to be a Democrat family.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett called her a sellout.
Former CNN anchor Don Lemon posted a video calling her a bigot and telling gay and Black fans to stop buying her music.
Minaj didn't back down.
She kept showing up at Trump events, calling herself his "number one fan" and defending his claims about 2020 election fraud.
Her latest move already has critics mocking her as a "court jester for the Republicans."
That's the point.
Every time the left tries to shame a black entertainer out of supporting this president, more of her fans start asking why they're Democrats in the first place.
The Fans Switching Parties Prove This Strategy Works
Conservative organizer Scott Presler is already offering to help Minaj's fans register to vote or switch parties.
That's not spin from a campaign consultant.
That's a direct response to watching her supporters abandon the party in real time.
Democrats keep expecting entertainers to fall in line and issue an apology tour the moment they say something nice about Trump.
Minaj did the opposite.
She said the backlash motivates her to support him more.
Putting her on a nationally televised business contest isn't a gamble for this White House.
It's a recruiting tool aimed straight at every Democrat voter who's tired of being told what to think by their own party.
The left can call this a circus if it wants.
Circuses sell tickets.
And this one is putting American manufacturers back on the biggest stage in the country while their critics are left screaming into the void.
