Nikki Haley’s appearance on this leftist show will probably cost her support

Feb 9, 2024

Politicians will do almost anything for voter attention.

But not all publicity is good publicity.

Now, candidate Nikki Haley just made an appearance on one of the most liberal-leaning shows in TV history to try to garner the favor of more voters.

Haley appears on Saturday Night Live

Saturday Night Live, or SNL, is, without a doubt, one of the most liberal television shows of all time.

Last week’s episode started with a cold open showing stars Kenan Thompson, Punkie Johnson, and James Austin Johnson playing Charles Barkley, Gayle King, and Donald Trump.

The trio appeared at a mock Town Hall in South Carolina as the camera eventually panned over to Nikki Haley.

Haley stood up among the members of the audience with a microphone in her hand, pretending to ask Donald Trump a question as a “concerned South Carolina voter,” which is how Thompson introduced her.

She then asked, “Why won’t you debate Nikki Haley?” as the audience laughed and cheered.

Austin Johnson, who played Trump, called Haley Nancy Pelosi, to which she replied, “Are you doing OK, Donald? You might need a mental competency test.”

The joke refers to Haley’s desire to have politicians over the age of 75 take a mental competency test.

If it were to become a reality, that test would apply to Donald Trump and Joe Biden since both men are over 75 years old.

But the one-liners didn’t stop there, as Haley went on to ask the Trump character, “Did you win your home state in the last election?”

The actor playing Trump replied, “I won Staten Island and the parts of Long Island where the fist fights happen.”

The opening skit also mocked Trump’s legal battles, including how his political groups paid over $50 million of his legal bills last year and how he was recently ordered to pay E. Jean Carroll over $83 million this year.

Haley was not immune

Although Haley made a surprise appearance on the show, the madness didn’t stop there, as another surprise guest jumped up from the audience to ask Haley a question.

Ayo Edebiri, star of the popular Hulu series “The Bear,” asked Haley, “I was just curious. What would you say was the main cause of the Civil War? And do you think it starts with an ‘s’ and ends with a ‘Lavery?”

Haley replied, “I probably should have said that at the time.”

Edebri’s question was referencing Haley’s real-life response to a question about what caused the Civil War when a voter asked her about it at a town hall in New Hampshire two months ago.

When Haley didn’t mention the word slavery in her answer, it caused a major backlash that she later had to correct publicly.

Meanwhile, polls show that Haley is significantly behind Donald Trump in her home state of South Carolina, where she served as governor from 2011 to 2017.
