Prince William is next in line to the throne as the future King of England.
He’s rumored to be preparing himself for leadership.
And Prince William made one unthinkable decision that put the British Royal Family on notice.
Prince William is becoming a tough ruler as he gains more power
King Charles was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer last February that he’s still fighting.
His son, Prince William, is “seizing” power as his father battles cancer.
William is already making tough decisions for the British Royal Family with his newfound leadership role.
InTouch reported that he’s decided to freeze out Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and his scandal-plagued uncle Prince Andrew.
“It’s no secret that anyone who pushes back against him will be swiftly shown the door,” a source told InTouch. “He’s not willing to take any nonsense and the word is he’s already on his way to being the toughest ruler the family has ever seen.”
One of the top priorities for William is improving the image of the Royal Family after it was marred by the infighting caused by Harry and Meghan’s departure.
The source told InTouch that William has “never been more influential” and that he’s diving head first into “making decisions that he feels will benefit the Crown in the long run.”
And the 76-year-old King is preparing to hand off power to his son.
“[Charles] is bestowing more responsibility on [William] and by all accounts is acknowledging that his time to rule will be sooner, rather than later,” the source stated.
Prince William is ready to make the hard decisions
William is looking to cut spending by the British Royal Family.
This is bad news for Prince Andrew because he’s lived off of his brother Charles’ funding since 2019.
“[William] wants expenses to be monitored closely, and any fat trimmed straightaway,” the source said. “He doesn’t want there to be any sense that special perks are being handed out to the royals.”
The Prince is tightening the purse strings under his leadership and pushing the family to be more environmentally friendly.
“He’s all about the environment, so he’s pushing hard to be front and center in that respect and has put out this edict that the rest of the family needs to get on board with being as green as possible,” the source explained. “Private flights and that sort of thing are being frowned on.”
“The days of wasteful spending and overconsumption are ending now that William is at the helm,” the source added.
William and his wife, Kate Middleton, have reportedly started preparing to become the King and Queen of England.
Royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith said Charles’ cancer has sped up that timeline.
“Although the king is carrying out his duties with typical determination, he has had to accept limitations during his cancer treatment,” Smith told People. “As a result, William has been taking on more responsibilities, and he and Kate have been preparing for their future roles sooner than they would have expected.”
The British Royal Family is preparing for another passing of the torch with the King in ill health.
