Robert De Niro’s Trump Derangement Syndrome is going into overdrive as he reviews this upcoming Donald Trump biopic

Apr 18, 2024

Robert De Niro is one of America’s most iconic actors, starring in films like The Godfather Part II, Taxi Driver, Cape Fear, Goodfellas and Casino – just to name a few.

But his unhinged personality is becoming more well known as many of his fellow actors have publicly announced they will never work with him, especially because of his heavy-handed political views.

And now, De Niro’s Trump Derangement Syndrome is getting worse, and he is whipping out his red pen to review this upcoming biopic about the early life of Donald Trump.

Robert De Niro stars in Trump Derangement Syndrome

It’s no secret that most Hollywood stars are far from fans of former President Donald Trump.

While there is a trend of celebrities like Rob Schneider, Michael Rapaport and Taryn Manning have recently seen the light – to various degrees – the vast majority of Hollywood remains on the far-Left.

And few celebrities suffer from more severe cases of Trump Derangement Syndrome than Robert De Niro.

The Wag the Dog star has released a series of foul-mouthed, profanity-laced rants against the 45th President of the United States.

Whether De Niro is at an award show podium, cutting a Public Service Announcement, or on a talk show like Real Time with Bill Maher or the Jimmy Kimmel Show, he never misses an opportunity to bash Trump and his supporters.

Last year, at the annual Cannes Film Festival, the woke actor called MAGA voters, “insane.”

Anti-Trump movie debuting just in time for campaign season

So, perhaps it’s only fitting that a new anti-Trump movie is debuting at this year’s Cannes Film Festival in France.

The Apprentice is a fictionalized look at Trump’s business upbringing in the 70’s and 80’s.

And if you have any hopes of Iranian-Danish filmmaker Ali Abassi’s biopic being fair and authentic – think again.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, “the film is described as a mentor-protégé narrative that documents the start of an American dynasty and tackles themes including power, corruption, and deception.”

Power, corruption and deception – sounds like a very even-handed telling of the story.

The Hollywood reporter article goes on to say the film will heavily focus on Trump’s relationship with lawyer Roy Cohn.

The tagline for The Apprentice doesn’t hide the movie’s bias:

“A dive into the underbelly of the American empire. It charts a young Donald Trump’s ascent to power through a Faustian deal with the influential right-wing lawyer and political fixer Roy Cohn.”

Sebastian Stan – aka Winter Soldier of Captain America and Avengers fame — will star as a young Donald Trump.

Despite his role as Trump, and previously starring in USA Network’s 2012 drama Political Animals, Stan doesn’t often go public with his politics.

Unlike his fellow actors – De Niro for example — he lends his money, time and name to apolitical charities like the Ronald McDonald House rather than leftist causes.

However, Stan did post a heartfelt congratulations to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris after winning the incredibly close and controversial 2020 election.

The Apprentice will premiere next month.

The Cannes Film Festival runs May 14-25.

However, it will be released to larger audiences as Trump’s 2024 general election rematch against incumbent President Joe Biden draws nearer.
