The women of The View are well-known for their radical leftist views.
And they go out of their way to attack conservatives while defending any Democrat or radical socialist politician.
That’s why The View‘s Ana Navarro got visibly upset over the fate of this Democrat Senator and jumped to his defense.
Ana Navarro of The View recently admitted that she was “shaken” by the criminal charges filed against Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ).
Defending Democrats no matter what crimes are alleged
Federal prosecutors have alleged that both Menendez and his wife were allegedly “participating in a years-long bribery scheme.”
Prosecutors are alleging Menendez used his office “to protect and enrich” three New Jersey businesspeople and “to benefit the Government of Egypt.”
Prosecutors say the Menendezs accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars, gold bars, a Mercedes, and “other things of value” for their alleged efforts.
Based on all the evidence, Menendez and his wife were charged with a number of crimes, including conspiracy to commit bribery, conspiracy to commit honest services fraud, and conspiracy to commit extortion.
In her reaction to the indictments, Navarro explained that this is “not easy” for her to process.
“I’m having a very hard time reconciling the evidence I saw shown on TV with the Bob Menendez I have known for almost 30 years,” she said.
“This is personally hard for me, but, you know, when I saw all the evidence — I’m shaken,” she admitted.
“I’m hoping against hope that there is some sort of logical explanation.”
Navarro also admitted the evidence, which includes photos of cash and gold bars found in his home, “looks ugly” and is “hard to explain.”
But not surprisingly, Navarro still found a way to defend Menendez.
“I can tell you I have worked with him time and time again, brought many wealthy clients to him, brought many issues in front of him,” she said. “Never has there been any hint of improprieties. Never has he hinted about a payback or anything like that.”
Calls for his resignation
Despite Navarro’s attempts to defend Menendez and his wife, her co-hosts, shockingly, were having none of it.
The other “ladies” of The View condemned Menendez and called for his resignation.
They join a growing chorus of calls for his resignation, including from New Jersey’s Democrat Governor, Phil Murphy, and at least six Democrat U.S. Senators.
But as it stands now, Menendez has no plans to resign and is instead defending his actions and trying to explain the massive amounts of cash and gold found in his home.
At a recent press conference, the Democrat Senator claimed he is innocent and even made the bold promise that he will be “totally exonerated.”
He also firmly stated his intention to continue serving as New Jersey’s senior U.S. Senator.
Menendez may end up having no choice in the matter as federal prosecutors are confident of a conviction.
Maybe then Navarro and the other Menendez backers will change their tune about him.
