This proposed comic duo has the Hollywood elite terrified

Jan 12, 2024

Ricky Gervais and Dave Chappelle are two of the funniest stand-up comics in the game right now.

And it may not be a coincidence that they’re two of the cancel culture mob’s most hated comedians.

So when Gervais made this proposal, it sent the woke Hollywood elites into an absolute panic.

Cancel Culture coming for comedy

Mel Brooks is widely considered one of the funniest men in history.

Brooks has been quoted as saying, “tragedy is what happens to me, comedy is what happens to you.”

Prolific America author Mark Twain is quoted as saying, “Humor is tragedy plus time.”

Both men say that comedy comes from pain; without pain, there is no comedy.

And in woke Culture, there is no room for pain – especially not to anyone who belongs in one of the Left’s protected classes of supposed “oppressed communities.”

That’s why the cancel culture mob sharpens their pitchforks and lights their torches whenever comedians make a joke about one of the so-called “protected classes.”

And it could be argued that no comedians are more willing to risk being offensive to be funny than Ricky Gervais and Dave Chappelle.

A comedic combo for the ages

Gervais and Chappelle are both on the receiving end of a great deal of positive and negative attention at the moment, coming off the heels of each of their recent comedy specials landing on Netflix during the Holidays.

And, as to be expected, the self-proclaimed “social justice warriors” were offended by the comedic routines and demanded apologies and cancellations.

However, as they have in the path, Gervais and Chappelle are laughing off the criticism from the Left.

In fact, Gervais just offered up an idea that is triggering all the Hollywood elites.

“We should host The Oscars together,” Gervais tweeted along with a laughing so hard it brings you to tears emoji.

Fans loved the idea, immediately suggesting the duo could bring the Oscars the types of rating it has enjoyed in many years.

The Oscars used to be a huge ratings success.

However, interest has waned in recent years as viewers are tired of hearing self-important celebrities wax poetic about woke political policies.

Netflix once had over 100 employees walk out of company offices after CEO Ted Sarandos defended the comedy special on free speech grounds.

With a record like that, one has to wonder if the woke celebrities would even show up to an Academy Award event hosted by Gervais and Chappelle – or would seats be left empty in protest?

It’s a tough prediction to make, as the one thing Hollywood Leftists like as much as virtue signaling is shallow self-adulation.
