And Tom Selleck was speechless after his co-star made off with one important memory. 

Donnie Wahlberg brings home a memorable part of the Blue Bloods set 

CBS police drama Blue Bloods finished filming the series finale after 14 seasons.

The series which premiered in 2010 follows the Reagan family, led by New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan – played by Tom Selleck – who work in law enforcement. 

One of the most memorable moments in the show is when the Reagan family has their weekly Sunday dinner. 

Actor Donnie Wahlberg, who plays Danny Reagan, took some memorabilia with him from the show now that it’s come to its conclusion. 

“I took my two Danny Reagan costumes — my blue suit and my dress blues,” Wahlberg said. “I put them on mannequins and put them in a Wahlburgers.”

Wahlburgers is the restaurant chain he owns with his brothers, Paul and Mark Wahlberg. 

The actor learned that the iconic dinner table and chairs from the Reagan family dinners were going to sit in storage. 

“I really had no intention of taking anything from the set until I learned that that table and chairs was just sitting in a warehouse somewhere,” Wahlberg explained. 

He said that the dining room and table chairs would be set up at various Wahlburger locations for fans to see. 

“I’ll set it up where fans can sit at the table and take pictures,” Wahlberg said. “And then I’m going to raffle it probably for charity for the DEA, the Detectives Endowment Association, for the Widows and Children’s Fund.” 

Blue Bloods comes to a controversial conclusion 

CBS announced that it was pulling the plug on Blue Bloods last year to the disappointment of fans and the cast. 

Selleck lobbied to keep the show going until the very end.  

“I’m kind of frustrated,” Selleck told TV Insider. “During those last eight shows, I haven’t wanted to talk about an ending for Blue Bloods but about it still being wildly successful.”

He pointed out that the show was still a rating success after more than a decade on the air. 

“In a Top 100 Shows of 2023-2024 (in total viewers, we were number 9 out of 100), if you discount the three football shows, we’re #6!  I’m not going to turn into a bitter old guy saying, ‘Get off my lawn!’ I don’t believe in holding grudges, but if you were to say to the television network, ‘Here’s a show you can program in the worst time slot you got, and it is going to guarantee you winning Friday night for the next 15 years,’ it would be almost impossible to believe,” Selleck explained. 

Selleck revealed that he’ll miss his co-stars like Wahlberg most now that the series has concluded. 

“The actors. The family of actors is as close as the Reagan family and the characters that they play.  There’s isn’t a single one of them who didn’t want to come back,” Selleck said. “Most shows don’t end that way — there’s petty jealousy and all sorts of things — and we seemed to overcome that. It’s something for everybody to hang their hats on and be proud of.”

CBS has hinted that there could be hope for a Blue Bloods spinoff show in the future.
