Travis Kelce is one of the biggest stars in the NFL.

But his football-playing days could soon be behind him.

And Travis Kelce made one surprising confession about a new career that left fans stunned.

Travis Kelce talks about new gig as host of TV game show

Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce is broadening his horizons as the host of the rebooted game show Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? on Amazon Prime Video.

Contestants “will rely on a classroom full of celebrities from stage, screen, and sports to help them answer 11 questions on a range of subjects, pulled from (an) elementary curriculum, in an effort to win a $100,000 prize,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The show is based on Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader? which was hosted by comedian Jeff Foxworthy.

Kelce has made headlines for his relationship with pop star Taylor Swift and with his New Heights podcast he co-hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce.

Making the transition from the gridiron to the television screen is going to come naturally according to the NFL star.

Travis Kelce says that he’s always been comfortable in front of a camera

Kelce was interviewed by Extra about his new gig as a game show host and he said he began preparing at an early age for that.

“I think it was all the home videos my mom used to have with the old camcorder, the handheld joint, at the house,” Kelce said. “I just always felt comfortable with the camera on me and the lights on me. Sure enough, I love a good challenge. I get excited for a challenge.”

He does have experience on television after serving as a guest host on Saturday Night Live and starring in Catching Kelce, a reality dating show on E!.

In the press release announcing Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?, Kelce said that he grew up loving game shows.

“There’s something about them that I got a love for,” Kelce remarked.

He credited his brother, recently retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, for his success in life.

“It’s just been so, really, all throughout my life. It started as a young kid and really understanding the value of family and what it can do for you, and it injected confidence and excitement in my life and I’ve been so fortunate,” Kelce told Extra. “I’ve been able to just follow his footsteps through life into the football world. And then, who knows what happens after that?”

At 34 years old, he’s nearing the end of his decorated football career, but he said he’s locked in on helping the Chiefs win an unprecedented third straight Super Bowl.

“I’m every bit as motivated to get back and win another Super Bowl,” Kelce said. “That’ll always be my number one job until I retire.”

Travis Kelce is setting up himself for a career in the entertainment business once his playing days wind down.
