The 150th Kentucky Derby had one of the closest finishes in the race’s storied history.
Mystik Dan held off two horses to win by three noses in the closest finish at the legendary horse race since 1947.
The race came down to a photo finish to determine who won the first leg of horse racing’s Triple Crown.
Mystik Dan finished ahead of Sierra Leone by a nose and Forever Young who finished third by another nose.
It became the 10th Derby in history to be decided by a nose, the slimmest margin in horse racing.
Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce was one of the many celebrities who descended on Louisville, Kentucky to attend the Derby at Churchill Downs.
During his New Heights podcast with his brother Jason Kelce, he revealed that he “almost won” $100,000 betting on Forever Young to win the race.
“I was a nose away from winning that f***ing thing, dude,” Kelce lamented.
He also put “a little bit” of money on Sierra Leone who barely finished second.
“I almost f***ing won a $100,000 off a Japanese horse in the Kentucky Derby,” Travis Kelce said, referring to Forever Young.
“Do you think America would have shamed me for that?” he joked.
“I’m shaming you right now, dude,” Jason Kelce quipped. “You bet on a Japanese horse?”

Kelce said that he was a novice at betting horses and just wanted to have fun at the race.
“I was a beginner. I didn’t get too far into that,” Kelce said. “I just wanted to f***ing put the money that I brought in there and throw it down on like one horse and just get f***ing pumped if that thing was even close. And sure enough, coming around that corner, you see that thing . . . come up.”
Kelce who attended the race without his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, who’s beginning the European portion of her Eras Tour.
He showed up to the race dressed in a white pinstripe suit and navy fedora.
Despite not winning the Kentucky Derby, he hit on one of the earlier races that day.

“When you show up to the Kentucky Derby and your first bet hits,” Kelce wrote on social media as he celebrated the action at the track.
He partied the night before the Derby with electronic music duo the Chainsmokers at the Sports Illustrated Revel at the Races event.
Of course, Kelce can survive losing his bet after he signed a new two-year contract extension with the Chiefs worth $34 million that will make him the highest-paid tight end in the NFL.
But Travis Kelce, like many bettors on the Kentucky Derby, was so close to hitting it big after a thrilling photo finish.
