Country music has a new rising star making waves in Music City.
The Arkansas native is catching the attention of industry insiders with his latest release.
And Tyler Kinch just dropped one country song that has Nashville buzzing.
Arkansas veteran trades combat boots for cowboy boots
Tyler Kinch’s story reads like the perfect country song – small-town Arkansas boy, Air Force veteran, working dad, and weekend warrior with a guitar who’s been grinding his way up from honky-tonk stages to sharing billing with some of country music’s biggest names.
The musician from Lonoke got his first guitar at age 4 from his dad, who played in local rock bands.
After serving his country in the military, Kinch came home and picked up where he left off musically.
But this time, he traded his rock roots for something more authentic to his Arkansas upbringing – traditional country music.
After completing his military service, Kinch returned to Arkansas and refocused on his musical ambitions.
For over a decade, Kinch has been paying his dues in honky-tonks and festivals across the South, building a devoted following one song at a time.
His commitment to original music and authentic storytelling has caught the attention of fans who are hungry for real country music that speaks to their lives.
Two-time Arkansas Country Music Entertainer of the Year signs with Nashville label
Kinch’s hard work has been paying off in a big way.
In June 2024, Tyler Kinch was named Entertainer of the Year at the Arkansas Country Music Awards – marking his second consecutive year winning the honor.
The recognition reflects not just his talent but the impact he’s made on Arkansas’s country music scene.
But the biggest news came this week when Kinch announced his partnership with Nashville-based Gravel Road Music Group for his latest single release.
"Dancing with a Cowboy" is now available on all major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music.
The track kicks off the release cycle for his highly anticipated EP of the same name, set to drop on June 20, 2025.
"Dancing with a Cowboy" captures classic country spirit
The new single showcases everything that makes Kinch’s music connect with audiences.
"Dancing with a Cowboy" brings listeners into a honky-tonk atmosphere where romance meets the dance floor.
Kinch explained the inspiration behind the track in his own words.
"This song is all about energy, connection, and that first spark," Kinch shares. "Whether you’re dancing in a Texas honky-tonk or in your kitchen barefoot, I want people to feel like they’re right there with us."
The song follows the success of "Frontlines," Kinch’s emotional tribute to military members and first responders that earned a standing ovation at the Arkansas Country Music Awards.
Both tracks will be featured on the upcoming EP.
Gravel Road Music Group partnership signals bigger things ahead
Kinch’s signing with Gravel Road Music Group represents a major step forward for the independent artist who has been grinding it out without a record deal.
The Nashville-based label was launched by music industry veteran Anthony Martini and multi-media entrepreneur Rich Barner in 2024.
Martini has experience managing major artists and achieving chart-topping success.
"I’ve always been drawn to artists who take the road less traveled, and that is the significance of the Gravel Road," says Martini. "We partner with artists who don’t follow someone else’s path but want to blaze their own."
For Kinch, who just a few years ago said in an interview "You don’t have to have a record deal anymore, but it’d be nice," the partnership represents validation of his decade-plus journey.
From Little Rock venues to sharing stages with superstars
Kinch’s rise has been steady and authentic.
In just a few years, Kinch went from playing acoustic shows at Little Rock venues such as Stickyz Rock ‘N’ Roll Chicken Shack and the Rev Room to playing sold-out shows with Justin Moore, the artist responsible for top-10 hits "Backwoods" and "Point at You."
He’s also shared stages with major names including Nate Smith, Lonestar, Randy Houser, Collin Raye, Chris Janson, and Lee Greenwood.
Kinch has become a regular opener for Billboard-charted country artist and Arkansas native Justin Moore.
His ability to connect with audiences caught the attention of national media as well.
Kinch performed live on Fox & Friends to promote his single "Frontlines" on Veterans Day 2024.
Country music’s next authentic voice
What sets Kinch apart in today’s country music landscape is his genuine approach to storytelling.
Kinch’s sound draws favorable comparisons to established stars like Cody Johnson and Tyler Childers, combining energetic live performances with compelling storytelling.
"It seems like no matter who you are, you can always connect to a country song," he said. "It’s always got something that relates to you."
His music reflects real working-class experiences – he currently works as a project manager for Powers of Arkansas in North Little Rock while pursuing his music career.
"I never really dreamed this would even be happening," he said. "We like to call it baby steps. I feel like we’re going in the right direction, but everything happens at a very slow pace when you’re working. I’m just a little fish in a big pond of artists. It just takes one song, and that’s what we’re working toward."
With "Dancing with a Cowboy" already creating buzz and line dance choreographers creating routines to the track, Kinch may have found that "one song" he’s been working toward.
The full EP drops June 20, 2025, and if the early response is any indication, Tyler Kinch is about to become a household name in country music.
You know it’s true with the Lindsey Graham’s of the world foaming at the mouth to send America’s youth to spill their blood and treasure in another 20-year odyssey in foreign lands, and Kinch having already performed for Fox News last Veterans Day.
