Warning lights are flashing red for Kamala Harris as her campaign faces this one grim reality

Aug 26, 2024

Kamala Harris’ role in the current administration is becoming a big problem for her campaign.

She’s hoping that voters don’t connect to the deteriorating situation around them.

And one grim reality facing Americans has the warning light flashing red for Kamala Harris.

Americans are cutting back on vacation as they run out of money

Vice President Kamala Harris is attempting a balancing act this election.

She’s claimed for the past three and half years that the economy has been doing great and that Bidenomics has been a big success.

Now that Kamala is the Democrat Presidential nominee, she can’t run against the administration she serves in.

A new study from retirement planning company Empower revealed how dire the situation is for consumers in the Biden-Harris economy.

It found that 82% of Americans don’t think their money goes as far as it used to while 62% felt that their purchasing power had been eroded.

That’s forcing many Americans to cut back on their spending.

27% claimed to have a hard budget that they wouldn’t exceed when they went grocery shopping.

And 20% of Gen Z would cut out buying fruits and vegetables if prices climb any higher.

Rising inflation has caused the Federal Reserve to hike interest rates which has driven up the cost of mortgages, car loans, and credit card interest rates.

The cost of food is up more than 21% since the Biden-Harris administration took power in January 2021.

Americans are cutting back on travel

The squeeze on consumers’ wallets from the cost of living crisis is causing spending on travel to be paired back.

Hilton CEO Chris Nassetta told investors on an earnings call that consumers have exhausted their savings.

“They’ve spent all that money. They’re now borrowing more. And so, they have less available, less disposable income and capacity to do anything, including travel,” Nassetta said.

A slowdown in the travel industry is another sign that the Biden-Harris economy is grinding to a halt.

“The desire to travel is ingrained in humans, but financially there are signs that the consumer might not be able to endure the amount of travel they would like,” Morningstar equity analyst Dan Wasiolek told Fox Business.

Many Americans had to forgo their annual summer vacation because they didn’t have the money to make it happen.

Credit card debt is at a record high

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York found that credit card debt reached a record of $1.14 trillion.

And that debt is even more painful to carry with high interest rates.

Many Americans are running out of money and turning to credit cards to get by.

President Joe Biden has boasted about the strength of the economy he is presiding over.

He told a reporter on the White House lawn that he “cured the economy.”

Kamala was with him every step of the way over the last three year and half years.

That’s why she’s trying to distance herself from the Biden economy.

Her campaign hinges on voters not connecting to her to the economic woes all around them.

Kamala is trapped because any detailed economic agenda she proposes will raise the question of why she wants to wait until next year to do it.

That leaves her trapped between a rock and a hard place on one of the most important issues to voters this election.
