Taylor Swift was shocked about this prediction from the Chiefs about Travis Kelce’s future

Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce and pop star Taylor Swift made headlines over their relationship.

But a change in his career plans could change everything.

And Taylor Swift was shocked about this prediction from the Chiefs about Travis Kelce’s future.

Travis Kelce’s NFL career could be longer than anyone expected

Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce agreed to a new two-year contract extension with the team that made him the highest-paid player in the NFL at the position.

The three-time Super Bowl champion will be paid $34.25 million over the next two seasons.

Kelce – who will turn 35 next season – has been one of the most productive tight ends in the NFL over the last eight seasons.

But for the first time since the 2015 season, he was held under 1,000 yards receiving and his touchdown total dipped from the previous three seasons.

He’s at the age where many professional players begin to slow down or retire but the Chiefs general manager thinks he still has a lot left in the tank.

Not often do players outside of kickers, punters, and quarterbacks last this long in the NFL.

Chiefs general manager Brett Veach predicted that Kelce would be able to produce a high level for years to come.

“Every now and then you have one of these guys that are outliers, and certainly Travis [Kelce] is one of those players,” Veach said. “It’s funny, it’s not even May yet, and today we had a chance to get out there in phase 2 and guys were out there running around. Travis was the first guy in line, and he looked like he was 28 years old.”

“Again, the odds of someone playing this far into their 30s is very low, but it does happen, and it happens with unicorns in the profession, and Travis is one of those,” Veach added.

Kelce had a stellar postseason where he finished with 32 catches, the most of any player in the playoffs.

“We’ll certainly celebrate this with him, and hopefully we can ride this thing even longer,” Veach said. “We’ll just have to wait and see, but he’s shown no signs of slowing down. Everyone notices the kind of postseason he had; he just found an extra gear. These special players are always able to find that extra gear and, again, if anybody can do it, Travis can.”

Could this be the final two seasons of Travis Kelce’s NFL career?

Kelce would be 38 years old when his current contract runs out after the 2027 NFL season.

On his podcast New Heights with his brother Jason Kelce, he said that he didn’t know what the future held after that.

“I’ve loved every single second of it and I’m going to love the next two years playing here in Kansas City and we’ll see what happens after that,” Kelce said.

He recently began hosting the game show Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? on Amazon Prime.

And Kelce is rumored to be eyeing more opportunities in Hollywood after his playing days are done.

But Travis Kelce’s NFL career could last longer than anyone could expect with him showing no signs of slowing down.
