Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was a star for his All-Pro caliber play on one of the most successful teams in the NFL.
When he started dating pop megastar Taylor Swift his fame went into the stratosphere as the beau of one of the most famous women on the planet.
Kelce’s fame expanded beyond sports into the world of broader pop culture.
During a January interview on The Pat McAfee Show, the Chiefs star described how his life changed after he started dating Swift.
“It’s exciting for me, but it was all brand new, man,” Kelce said about when they started dating. “From having the paparazzi follow me every single day into work to everybody having my name on their talk show every single day . . . It’s been a crazy, crazy ride that I could have never anticipated. But I’m having fun with it. The majority of the world is having fun with it, outside all the cranky NFL fans that just don’t want to see the Chiefs win.”
But as the boyfriend of one of the biggest global celebrities he’s had to make some adjustments to his life.
Travis Kelce stops getting mail at his house
Kelce moved into a home in a gated community in suburban Kansas City after he began dating Swift last year.
He revealed on his New Heights podcast with his brother Jason Kelce that he had to stop getting mail delivered to his house.
Kelce said that his home address leaked online after he started Swift which led to a crazy situation.
“The one thing you don’t realize, that when somebody posts your house online, that everybody now has your address and people just send stuff to your house,” Kelce said.
“So I literally stopped getting mail to my house. I had to stop,” Kelce continued. “I had to literally tell the post office and everybody to, like, stop bringing stuff to my house.”
“But then there’s some stuff that comes and it’s pretty cool,” Jason Kelce said.
“Anything sent to my house, send right back to the sender,” Kelce said. “So anybody that’s just sending random s**t to my house, uh, it’s not getting to me.”
Jason Kelce talked about the change to his brother’s life after he started dating Swift during an appearance on NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal’s The Big Podcast.
Being famous “has its drawbacks, for sure. I mean, you know even more than I do,” Kelce told O’Neal.
“And Travis knows way more,” Kelce explained. “He had to move here, to completely move out of his house, right? People just standing by his house. Yeah, I mean safety reasons. And the first day he moved into the new house, a gated community, somebody knocks on a window of the house.”
